About NGE

NGE was established in 1992, and currently contains about 130 homes. New construction continues in Phase 4 on Abbyshire and Brookshire Drives. Neighborhood amenities include a swimming pool, fishing ponds, tennis and basketball courts, and clubhouse. Social events for children and adults are held periodically through the year.

NGE is located just a few miles from Hudson’s historic downtown hub, within minutes of transportation, shopping, schools and parks.

Transportation

Ohio’s Route 8 and the Ohio Turnpike (I-80) link NGE to shopping and employment centers in the region, including Cleveland, Akron and places beyond.

Major airports in include Cleveland Hopkins (CLE), about 30 miles to the north, and Akron-Canton (CAK), about 25 miles to the south.

 

Shopping, Dining and Entertainment in Hudson

Historic downtown Hudson features a variety of shopping and dining options at First and Main, as well as the award-winning Hudson Library and Historical Society. Throughout the year, Hudson hosts events such as monthly Art Walks, the Art on the Green, Summer Music Nights, Movie Nights, the Hudson Farmers Market, Concerts on the Green, the Hudson Wine Festival, and the Hudson Holiday Walk.

Outside of downtown, shopping, dining and entertainment options abound in other areas of town. These include a movie theater, fine and casual dining, and many local businesses that provide personal and retail services.

Public Schools

Buses transport NGE students to Hudson schools.Pre-K through 12th grade is offered through the Hudson City School District (HCSD), which is consistently rated among the best in the state. In 2020, US News and World Report ranked Hudson High School within the top 15 high schools in the state, with a 97% graduation rate, and a 75% participation rate in Advanced Placement (AP) classes. At other grade levels, HCSD provides a high-quality education in core academic subject and a vibrant range of arts and athletics programs.

Private Schools and Academies

A variety of private schools also serve the community, including Western Reserve Academy (9th-12th) in downtown Hudson, Old Trail School (early childhood-8th) in the Cuyahoga Valley, Seton Catholic School (K-8th) and Hudson Montessori School (early childhood-8th) in the town of Hudson, and the Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy (7th-12th) in Cuyahoga Falls.

Public Parks, Bike Trails and Golf

NGE is bordered by Summit County Metroparks Bike and Hike Trail.Nearby parks include the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, several Summit County Metroparks and facilities maintained by the City of Hudson.

NGE is located directly on the Summit County Bike and Hike Trail, which is part of a larger network of trails connecting Summit, Cuyahoga and Portage counties (download a regional bike path map).

Just minutes down Barlow Road from NGE is the City of Hudson’s Ellsworth Meadows Golf Club.
